You require a "Solenoid Valve" , the solenoid coil comes in different voltage ratings, the valves can withstand significant pressure.

Often used in LPG applications as fuel shutoff devices, also used in security applications to covertly switch off fuel from the tank.

When the solenoid is energised the fuel/lpg will flow, when the current is switched off the valve closes.

Asco manufacturers a series of valves that are operated by electricity, or air pressure. There are valves designed to be used with almost any fuel you might be using. If I understand you correctly, you want the fuel turned on when the switch is first moved, and then it would stay on till the switch is activated a second time, and then it would shut off. If that is your desire, you will need a latching relay to control the fuel valve. Good luck.
