2002 Mercedes C240 Issues

08/31/2011 3:23 AM

I have a 2002 C240 Mercedes and I am getting 1 malfunction, check engine, and low beam fault in the dash. However, I have replaced low beam bulb and the low beam still does not work. Also, when slowing down, taking off, and sometimes when at a complete stop there is vibration and it hesitates taking off. once you get up to 20 miles per hour the vibration goes away. I have changed the spark plugs and replaced air filters. Can anyone tell me what to do to resolve these issues?

1) for the headlight, have you checked the fuses for the headlights? The German auto manufacturers seem to be working at using as many fuses as possible for circuits.

2) Get someone reliable, and trustworthy to read your trouble code. Or work your way through the 400 or so possibilities. This is definitely not the place to guess, or repeat someone else's repair. Good luck.

i've seen this type of problem with lights many times. they all had bad ground wire connection where they bolt to the frame, engine or dash. i'ld start there before you take it to the shop. you should clean all the grounds while you at it.
