Well, I guess I can say "Thank goodness for bag filters! They keep the bags out!"

We use bag filters in a different application. Filtering sea water. Generally they do a good job but because money is tight and the bags are costly we wash them. This damages them and after a while a nominal 1 micron becomes a nominal 1 cm.

Some say you can wash them safely in an ultrasonic bath but it does need to be quite big and like I say we just don't have the money to invest.

Depending on what you are filtering I prefer automatic backwashing filters like tekleen systems. We are just about to install a similar system at work so I can't say too much till I've seen it work for a few years.

One other problem is that they can be damaged by mishandling but because of the construction the damage can go unnoticed. I have also seen some brand new ones where the stitching or heat sealed edge is defective.

As for keeping bags out, I've never tried to filter my mother in law so don't know.

No matter how technical, it's always important to keep a good sense of humor! Tell your mother-in-law I said "Back off!!!"

Good thing we have bag filters to keep Vermins mom out.

Anyway more serious. Your question doesn't make any sense. Bag filters can be used for both air and liquid filtration. You have to describe the process better so we can comment.

Otherwise you look like you are just fishing for information, but you make it sound like you don't know anything about anything and wouldn't understand anything a person said if they took the time to help you. It could be a waste of their time and it is not fair to the person who was nice enough to reply.

I concur. And by the way, I'm scared of my mom, too!

APPCO, you must have a purpose to your question that goes beyond the obvious. After all, your profile page here lists the web site printed above. So, perhaps you could enlighten us about the use of bag filters in refineries for both air/gas and liquid/water applications!! And, maybe you could answer our questions on the topic, too.

We would all be very grateful to you.

Yes, my question has a purpose.

The purpose is to learn an experience of others with bag filters in air pollution control systems, especially in applications for the refineries in oil industry.

Did I answer your question?
