Wiper Motor Internal Circuit

09/05/2011 4:11 AM

Hi,

could somebody explain (in simple terms) how does a wiper motor works. I have read some material from internet

1. there are two speeds for the wiper motor high and low. But according to me the motor rotates with only one speed then what mechanism is used to get the two speeds.

2. There is also a park switch. could somebody show me its electrical connections.

3. How to obtain the timings for intermittent wiper.

Thanks in advance,

satya

There are two sets of windings in the motor to achieve the slow and fast speeds.

The "park" switch is used to supply power to the wiper motor after the normal wiper switch is turned off, and un till the wiper reaches the park position. Once the wiper motor reaches the park position, the park switch opens up, and the motor stops.

The timing used for the intermittent operation is done with electronic circuitry usually in a separate module.
