with a cable, tell us what type you are using, and what kind of PLC, is it using a standardized comunication protocol? if yes , conecting a Barcode reader that uses the same protocol will be easy

Lyn-Door Industries sells an excellent clear duct tape. I highly recommend it.

Doesn't the clear duct tape let the bar codes leak out?

But seriously folks...
