In Orifice installation how we should decide tappings are at D,D/2 or at flanges?

I think that flange tappings are more common, but unless the fluid velocity in the pipe is very high, pipe tappings D/2 or D away from the flanges won't make much difference.

Dear Deepak, flange tapping is depends on line sizes there are 3 thumb rules:-

1) If line size is less than 2 inches then we go for corner tapping.

2) If line size is more than 2 inches and less than 18 inches then we go for flange tapping.

3) If line size is more than 18 inches then we go for D and D/2 tapping.

But I dont know when to use Vna Contracta Tapping and Pipe Tapping (2D and 8D). If you know or anybody else please tell.
