Looking for funny math thread

04/22/2007 11:27 AM

A few weeks ago, there was a posting on CR4 on some funny answers to math exams. One was a "find x" 3-4-5 right triangle, with a "there it is" answer. Another had an expand (a + b)^n. I have been using the CR4 search tool for an hour trying to find that thread with a dozen keywords that I can recall and darned if I can find it. Can anybody point me to it?

Thanks very much.

5^2=25 =12 + 13 : 5,12,13,triangle

7^2=49=24 + 25 = 7,24,25 ,triangle

see the pattern ? There are other fun ways for math fans

Thank you, but that was not what I was looking for. The original thread I'm trying to find had several posts, with various images of actual goofy answers on high school math exams. One had a derivation that got messed up, and finally the student drew a stick figure hanging himself off the radical sign. Sound familiar, anyone?

Even though it's a Biz address , it's better to use the private members mailing feature - you may end up with a lot more mail than you expect giving an address here.

Yeah, I realized that after my post. But so far, only good responses, no spam.

And THANKS to Larko who followed up off line! I am all set now.

I don't think the ppt file can be attached to a post here. Need a couple of days to get time to make some screen dump tifs of the slides, which I will send back to Larko.
