Caller ID Activation of AT&T Phone in India

I have brought AT&T cordless telephone (model CL84209, DECT 6.0) from US to India. In US its caller ID was functioning properly. But in India it is not working. It only shows "in coming call". I have contacted service provider (BSNL). They say that from their side the caller id function is activated by default for all customers. I have changed country code also from 1 to 91. but still it is not showing in coming caller number. Can some one help?. Thanks

There are different caller ID protocols used in different countries.

I don't believe your US phone recognizes the system used in India.

You may be able to get an add on box to display caller ID.

I had also faced similar problem in past. It will not work in India. You will have to buy seperate caller ID attachment which is available here.

Thanks. Could you pl let me know some attachment which is available in India. Are These attachments make and model specific or could be used with any instrument?
