Velometer and Accelerometer

Please any one can tell me what's the difference between Velometer and accelerometer and there different application and there out puts, if i want to check a velometer how can i check using multimeter ?

1.) Velocity sensors measure machinery casing vibration and are used on machines

where using eddy current proximity transducers are not practical. Typical

applications include pumps, electric motors, compressors, and fans.

2.) Accelerometers are very effective when used for the measurement of high

frequency vibrations. Supplemental high frequency casing measurements are

typically required for measuring gear mesh and blade pass frequencies.

Velometer is for low frequency applications and Accelerometers are for high frequency applications.

Normally these signals are verified by varying their amplitude

These signals can be measured through a multimeter by measuring the Frequency of the AC component of the output signal in Hz.
