Time Setting Between Star and Delta Starter..???

Pls any one say me the Time setting in the timer which is used to conver Stat to Delta starter in Motor..????

Do this time setting depends on rating of motor..???

This time depends on the inertia of the load (+motor)... higher the inertia, longer the acceleration time, longer the timer setting. Generally you should allow the motor to accelerate to 85% full speed before changing over to delta.

It is also recommended that you provide a 'transition delay' of 30-100 milliseconds between star contactor drop-off and delta contactor pickup. You should also provide a mechanical interlock between star and delta contactors, in addition to the normal electrical interlock.

I would recommend a time delay of 5 seconds before blowing it up with dynamite, and replacing it with a better starting method.
