3 Phase Power Systems

10/12/2011 1:12 AM

How do I calculate the value of Zc, if Za and Zb are known in a 4 wire star connection unbalanced sytem 380V symmetrical? Neutral current,In, flowing away from neutral point is known.

I 1st calculated Ia and Ib with the aim of getting Ic via the equation:

In=Ia+Ib+Ic and thereafter using Ic to calculate Zc, but I am not getting a correct value of Zc.

Tx

Just a quick note which you may have missed,

In=Ia+Ib+Ic , In is summation of all phase current in vector form.

Transpose

In = √((Ia²+ Ib²+ Ic²)-((Ia*Ib)+(Ia*Ic)+(Ib*Ic)))

I'm not doing it for you, it's your homework!
