Construction of Air Receiver

10/14/2011 8:58 AM

I need to construct the air receiver separately for 1 pneumatic cylinder of dia. 50 mm and stroke 1000 mm. Receiver should have the capacity of to and fro motion of cylinder.

Then how I should calculate the capacity? What are the parameters involved in this? How much factor of safety should I consider (MS Material and it is a intermittent load)?

After construction, how receiver should test for any defects in welding...

I think you should leave things as they are, assuming the system is working now.

You do not have the experience nor knowledge to reduce the air supply by 50% and retain a working system.

I agree you should first understand how much air your equipment consumes. Then understand the capacity of your air delivery system.

Till then, further analysis won't help.
