ONAN/ONAF Transformer Fan Switching Controller

10/18/2011 3:23 AM

In reference to say 40/50MVA 33/11kV transformer

How transformer loading is monitored to switch on & off ONAN/ONAF tarnsformer's fans?
Similar to winding temperature monitor.. oil cup & CT?
Or vendor actually do have load monitor (CT & PT inputs wired) with digital output contacts programmable for switching on fans at perticular loads?

The most fool-proof method is WInding temperature monitoring.

Not sure about load but vendor will provide the digital output from the winidng and oil temperature to switch on and off the fans.
