Please undergo an organised training programme before undertaking any design and/or selection on your own.

Your taking money under false pretences! How can you reconcile your shortcomings as a design engineer?

When you're given a project will you be asking us to design it for you?

I am sorry, but "Practical Practice" cannot be taught at a classroom course, but can only be learnt in practice practically. Just to help you, can you join our training programme on switchgear selection? Mail me your ID thro this forum's mailbox so that I can send you further details.

Dear Friend,

I do not know what is your basic engineering education or the period of experience but I can give a simple advice. First you did not do anything wrong in accepting a designer job. You do not have to get nervous about getting started with your design job. In life no one is born with experience and you have to gain experience through your own hard work. It does not come by itself. In our time we had to depend only on text books and engineering hand books and still we succeeded in designing big projects. But today the doors are wide open for knowledge. The internet itself is a great help. What ever data you need is available from the product manufacturers. There are many books and articles available on design requirement of various jobs.

Now start systematically .

1.Make a basic study of the product/project/ system to be designed.

2. Find out if there is any similar project available for your reach . If available you

make a study of that project.

3. Make a draft report and start modifying it systematically.

4. take the help of various standards and start designing

You will find it easy to go ahead and reach your target.

Best of luck and success in your job.

Also let me add something,

As for a designer it is must to have practical experience of site/equipments that you are going to design. So before starting a project have some site surveys of similar projects which will help you understand better
