Diesel Firewater Pump Noise Limit

what are the allowable noise level for diesel operated firewater pump and which code guide us for it. please reply positive.. thanks

RAMconsult is correct, it depends on the location and local statutes. GA from me!

Try to keep the dB level below 70, either by installing an appropriate "CRITICAL GRADE MUFFLER", or use sound-attenuation enclosure panels installed completely around the engine and pump...this much easier to install for an indoor installation.

Oppps sorry, that should have been 70 dB(A), as measured at 7 meters (~21 feet) distance.
