What is the 2/3 logic in instrumentation?

2/3 logic is used in level transmitter in our latest project.

what is the purpose of that 2/3 logic and how it will work?

2/3 logic is nothing but voting method . If the two out of three tranmitters gives the reading above or below a ' set point ' then the control or trip action would be initiated by the logic .

You may also see it written as 2oo3, it means exactly the same thing. 1oo2D is another term you may come across. It means one out of two voting with diagnostics.
