Voltage Rating

11/02/2011 7:30 AM

I have one crash barrier of voltage rating of 208 volts and the control supply of 120 volts. Can i connect this equipment to the 220 volts and control unit connect to the 127 volts.

Possibly but you would have to check the data sheets to ensure the voltages are within the operating range of the equipment, and also that the crash barrier (?) and control are electrically isolated if the two supplies are being powered off different phases (otherwise there could be an explosion).

Again, don't forget to read the manual carefully as the information should be in there.

What is a crash barrier? Is it one of those motorised vehicle barrier arms?
