Can you be a little more specific as to what is being injected? Assuming you mean 'secondary injection', it is a convenient way to test the health of the protection system...one injects an appropriate current into the input of the protective relay as if the CTs were delivering that current into it. This way, if the CTs are say 5000/5, you need to apply only 5A into the relay as opposed to 5000A in the Circuit Breaker's main contacts.

sridhar yea its almost on the |||lar lines, can u xplain more abt ht side cable injection testing ?

and the CT ratio that u considered is for meter calibration ?

pls clarify...Cos' they asked me in an interview which i told i am unsure ..

For HT Side Cable Injection, it is called 'Primary Injection Testing' and you need to have a high current source for conducting the same.

KVS's CT ratio could be for metering as well as for protection.
