If I understand the question, yes. The operators manual or manufacturer's web site should tell you how to do this.

This is a scary question to be asked, improper calibration can lead to catastrophic failure and loss of life. And, for you to ask a question about "trimming" a temperature transmitter, leads me to think that you do not have the skill level to properly calibrate a temperature transmitter. You need to seek a professional help with "trimming", calibration of your temperature transmitters. Be Safe

Other than what Lyn said in reply #1, we would need more information about the system that this temp. sensor is part of. Have you contacted the manufacture of the temp. sensor? Have you located the operator's manual for that particular system that the temp. sensor is in? What is the temp. sensor used for? Is this sensor controlling mixing valves in a Nuclear Power Plant? Is it a system monitor??? We need more information.

As a general rule of thumb, you would have a calibrated thermometer and use it for comparison while trimming the sensor.

Miscalibration of this temperature sensor can cause problems for you and the system it's in, if your lucky, it's will only cause inefficiency of the system. And, if your unlucky....the system might blow up or it might make ice, depending what this temp. sensor is responsible for within the system.

Your question seems to be unclear,

but i guess you are trying to trim an offset value for given input. Yes, this can be done, if you Temperature Transmitter is SMART Transmitter and supports HART protocol using HART communicator you can directly perform trimming operation. Else We need look for Zero, Span trim pot on the transmitter.
