IEC v/s IEEE/ANSI - Short Circuit Current Calculation Designations

11/15/2011 5:59 AM

First many thanks for your posts they are very knowledgeable.

I have question in regards to the Short Circuit Current (SCC) Calculations IEC, IEEE/ANSI.

Basically I am looking for a table (or a comparison table) which shows the detail description, IEC designation and IEEE/ANSI designation for the Short Circuit Calculation, and Just want to know where I can locate it on the internet, supplier manual, books, standards, etc.

I want to get this as I have referred to many articles related to the SCC calculations and now I have got confused which convention is to follow, as they are all mixed up.

I could have referred to the books but then once again same thing would have happened. I could have asked a technical question but I believe if I can get above mystery sorted then I may not need to.

Your help will truly be appreciated.

Kind Regards

For IEC 60909 Procedure, please refer to Schneider Electric's Publication Cahier Technique No. 158 and for IEEE please refer to Cooper Bussman's Publication on Short Circuit Current Calculations.

Hi ElectricalExpert65, Thanks for your references, I will go through them tonight. But I am basically looking for a table which I can use as a reference, as everytime I go through a different brand catalog I have to learn their conventions expecially the Terasaki. I am not tired doing it but just want to have a reference from reliable source/s like ur self/any other expert.

Thanks again,
