Spot Welding Question

11/17/2011 4:50 PM

I have 2 sheet metal parts. Aluminum 5052, 16 GA and 18 GA. They both have to be permanently fastened. I am thinking of Spot welding.

Will this be expensive as compared to spot welding steel?

Will it be difficult to find vendors doing this type of spot welding?

Not much difference in the process. Al takes more power. Just about any sheet metal shop should be able to do it.

It's not rocket science.

<...Will this be expensive...>

CR4 doesn't usually get involved in money.
