SA 53: "Specification for pipe, steel, black and hot dipped, zinc coated, welded and seamless."

SA 106: "Specification for seamless carbon steel pipe for High-Temperature Service."

For both Max C%: 0.3 (Grade B)

For both Min Tensile 60.000 PSI (Grade B)

Also you have to read Both Scopes.

boto.....

Thank you for a complete and well worded English question.

Seamless A106 -GrB is often specified for power plant piping applications. It is generally considered superior to A53 B.....which can be supplied in a seamed or seamless configuration.

When minimum piping wall thicknesses are calculated, in accordance with an established piping code (such as ASME B31.1), the seamed pipe must have a factor applied which will increase the minimum required thickness.

Seamless piping sometimes meets both ASTM specifications and may carry the markings of both A106 -B and A53-B.

Hope that this helps
