Scrapheap Orchestra

12/11/2011 10:28 PM

Just been watching Scrapheap Orchestra, bloody fantastic http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b017zn47/Scrapheap_Orchestra/

Loved the double bass made out of a tin bath, a bit of ally tube and water pipe for the bow. Violins made from sewer pipe with coat hangers for the bows.

I love orchestral music, it's not very often you get to laugh your way through the 1812

Of course the PC brigade had to stick their oar in, watch it to see what they moaned about.

Sounds like fun, but the link seems to work only in the U.K.

Sorry about that Tornado. I'm surprised though BBC Iplayer radio is world wide.

I saw the program last night. V good, made musicians and instrument makers alike think more about their instruments.
Nice touch at the end when the instrument maker who made the flute gave the flautist a bunch of flowers, it was just a split second but you could see she was quite /surprised/moved.

That was a nice touch.

The PC brigade complaining about the drumbeater teddy bears was ridiculous!

Indeed, have they no sense of humour or proportrion? Thousands are starving in the world, but let's not bash Teddy and it will all be fine.

My apologies to everyone. (Except those in GB who can watch it)
