Monitor Resolutions

12/12/2011 11:38 AM

Hi,

I have a dual monitor computer, one 22 and one 21.5" monitor. The 21.5" monitor supports 1920x1080, and I have been using it at that resolution, until I bought a projector and also a booster (So I could use both at the same time). The projector is only 1280*960, but when it is turned off I want to just use the monitor, but at a 1920x1080 resolution. There is now no option boost that signal up to 1920x1080. The booster box says it will support up to 2048x 1536, so that shouldn't be the problem, but the problem is still there regardless. I was wondering whether anyone would have any ideas as to what could be the problem, as far as I can work out, it should all be working fine and dandy.

Some specs:

Monitor in question: http://reviews.argos.co.uk/1493-en_gb/5295542/reviews.htm

Booster: http://www.kvmchoice.com/detail_switch.asp?id=952

Projector: http://www.epson.co.uk/Projectors/Epson-EMP-S4/Tech-Specs

All running off a Phenom x4 2.3GHz computer with an ATI 4850 graphics card

Cheers

Will

Why did you not just buy a second video card and dedicate that fro the projector?

They do make USB video cards. I am not sure how well they would work in your application, but it might be worth a look.

You may just have to adjust your display resolution each time
since your projector can't handle 1920x1080.
