Well i was not expecting a yes or no.I mean is it good comparing it to normal tab available in market. Most of students from middle class family will be happy to own a tab.

Then why ask a question that implies that a yes/no answer is expected?

In the case of the originally posted question, there are only two answers: positive and negative.

We had a duscussion. You asked a specific question and we answered it. That's a discussion.

If you wanted reasons for our answers you should have ended your question with, "and why?"

i would have certainly bought it had my son not bought a $99 HP touchpad for me in that famous fire sale. Great value for money.

i think it is a good example of appropriate technology. Suitable for India, just like my Nano car (which is not salable in western countries i am told)

For £36 / $56 (3000 Rupees) I would be tempted.

But despite the fact that it was designed here in the UK, it doesn't look as though it will be available here, and certainly not at that price......

"Datawind is known in the UK for its small devices that include wireless GPRS broadband access. It has been rumoured that the company will be launching the Aakash in the UK under a different name and at a much higher price point."

No, because like Luke Skywalker said in the movie 'Star Wars'....."What a piece of junk!"

You get what you pay for, and if you want a super cheap tablet don't expect it to be of much use compared to the NUMEROUS other great tablets on the market (Asus, iPad, Galaxy, etc).

Link

If you want a tablet, spend a little more and get a better one or you will be left with disappointment and miss out on what tablets are supposed to be all about (functionality, ease of use, expandability, great battery life, loads of apps, etc).
