Motorized Screw Jack

12/18/2011 8:31 AM

Respected Sir,

I want to make motorized Screw Jack, in which the motor takes its power from the battery. But the problem which arises is of speed reduction which requires in model as motor speed is to high than required by the jack to operate and my next part of the question is that whether the torque of the motor will be sufficient for the jack handle to rotate. Sir please help me in this problem as soon as possible.

Thank You.

I thought you wanted to make instead of buying such a screw jack. Well it is always good to see what commercial products already exist before you fabricate your own. You need to research about gear reduction drives. The question though becomes will it be worth your time to build your own screw jack.

Look at the fun this guy had trying to make a toaster.

i would use a 12 volt starter motor with a variable speed control or just a push button to release when the jack is up or down.
