Talking about losses, kramarat, you've lost me there ! What's this about?

I am at my son's home and was not planning to login, but I saw your note and wanted to reply.

I appreciate your kind words.

For those who do not know, my wife died last week after a long, painful fight with a rare, terrible disease. The end came very quickly, but peacefully. As much as it hurts to have her gone so suddenly, I am comforted to know she is no longer suffering. I want to believe that she is now in a far happier place.

I had not planned to post a message like this. I am not looking for sympathy, and this is a personal loss. I do not want this to be a subject of a general discussion.

I've mentioned my loss to a few people here, and have gotten some replies, though I have not yet responded to any of them. I will respond eventually, when I have had some time to get through the difficult days ahead.

I hope you all have a happy holiday season. I will be back here sometime next month.
