Reverse Power Checking

12/27/2011 1:44 PM

Hi Friends,

We had problem while we are doing reverse power checking in Frame 9001E Ge machine. The problem was machine synchronise in the grid so the local operator reducing the load the RPM is coming down then we received the alarm as breaker opened on reverse power but actually breaker not opened. And machine also not gone to shutdown mode.

And as well as we can,t able to reduce the load also how it is possible even breaker in close condition and one more point the alarm status was 1 and not reset ed.

I've unfortunately had this problem too. Not a good feeling when a generator begins to "motor". The generator is not under load, so load shedding and all other generator protections are useless. All you can do is manually open the breaker.
