Scored My First Century of GAs

01/01/2012 8:15 AM

Hi! CR4 Forum members! Wishing you all a very happy new year 2012. Glad to inform you all that I have scored my first century of GAs at this forum, right at the start of this new year. On this occasion, I thank all those who asked those questions and also those who have rated my answers as GAs. Thank you! Gentlemen and Ladies, if any.

Bad news pal. GAs have no real meaning. Happy New Year.

Sorry. I'm still in the process of shredding 2011's negativity.

Negative waves kramarat, always with them negative waves. Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

"Negative waves kramarat, always with them negative waves. Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?"

Oddball, played by Donald Sutherland; Kelley's Heros, 1970 (substitute Moriarity for kramarat)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xyh-JpWdGmQ&feature=related

Didn't think anyone would catch the reference didja? Oddball is one of my all-time favorite movie characters.

I should have given proper credit at the time. Thanks for settiing the record straight.

Great movie. Ranks right up there with Fargo. I can see it happening, especially the sail boat. I'm sure there were plenty of guys like Crapgame, Oddball and the rest.

I see at least 4 people caught the reference.

I just cancelled out my 2 almost GAs on this thread.

Oh, I'll bet admin can tell who's intentionally screwing around with the GA system......................................probably wouldn't be too hard to revoke their voting ability either.

I wish whoever is doing it, would get on here and explain how it is that they derive enjoyment from it.

Congratulations!

100 GA mean, you were thanked by atleast 200 times by readers as they have got benefited by them. Approximately 1000 readers might have failed to thank you..

You will not gain anything by 100 GA. So thank you for noble help.

Congratulations. Many engineers would have benefited by your answers and opinions. I think Admin should give some reward to you. Meanwhile may I suggest the Admin to organise a webpage for members/participants of CR4 to publish all web addresses/links which appeared in CR4 comments by members/participants to download free of charge valuable technical information instead of asking the same question over and over again in this forum.

Your first century of GAs? That's 100.

Who knocked you back to 94?

At least when I get negative, I do it right out in the open for the whole world to see.

"bad, bad love" "rouge GA Ninja Assassin"

I say the natural outcome of drawing attention to what has received a GA

But I'd take it as just an incentive to try for the 'best and correct' in any given thread, not that that necessarily brings GA.

In this context, I find that only a GA giver should have the right to take his GA back. The GA's are a beacon to browse through the posts quickly. Some pirates here find it amusing indeed to strip contributors of their GA's. AND they do this flat ANONYMOUS, bringing the didactic value of this forum down.I see it happen all the time.

I am not one to strip away someone's good answer, but I have seen some posters give GAs that are totally wrong or for ill reasons. In those instances it may make sense to demote it.

However, I would think long and hard about it.

I've seen GAs get knocked down within a thread because an answer that sounded good, turned out to be wrong, and usually someone explains why the answer is wrong.

In this case, some scumbag(s), backtracked and knocked them down just because they could.................................it's not even the act itself, it's knowing that there are people on here that actually think like that. WTF.

Like someone else said. Pulling the wings off flies.

I think it is also a good courtesy to explain why you are taking away a good answer.

Not only is it just honorable to do that, but it explains why one feels the GA is wrong, which provides a mechanism for the original poster (and others) to learn or at least mount a good counter argument dialog.

When you're wrong, you think you're right; so, it may be possible that you'll never take your GA back.

As far as I know, an anonymous poster can't vote, can they?.

Indeed, but between wrong and right is a lot of grey.

If you have been participating in a tread, you can find out where it is pointed to and eventually change course.

I have no experience as anonymous poster giving a GA. Maybe someone else can fill me out here? Tks.

I was starting to think we lost you. Sorry for the negative vibes man.

No, we've had plenty of, ahem..........discussions about GAs and OTs. Also times when certain people, seemingly acting in unison, have used the GA system to go out and try to settle a score, out of anger, by wiping them out..............................good members have left over it.

Congrats on hitting 100. The point I was trying to make, is that if you spend enough time here, eventually you'll probably get in a disagreement, followed by a GA point slide. I've had mine drop by 6 or 7 at a time before. Don't take it too seriously if it happens.

Woopty doo! I feel somewhat inferior now. Obviously I need to create numerous different aliases, and give myself GA's, so I can crack a century to. I know, I know......my negativity is not going to be very beneficial to my long term involvement with this site, and now everyone will chastise and denigrate me when I actually need some real help......but I wil get over it. Happy new years to all!

Ps. Apologies in advance, I acknowledge that there have probably been countless people that have appreciated and been thankful for a good answer EE65 has provided them. I just dont think it was necessary create a post and broadcast to the whole CR4 world this spectacular forum milestone.

can crack a century to.

You misspelled to. While it's a word, it should have been too.

Everybody likes clarity.........................no GA's required.

Thankyou Kramarat. Yes, my spelling and grammar is generally atrocious, at best.

Bring forth the criticism......

Don't hold it against yourself. I'm hearing rumors that I'm an a$$hole. It's not true. I swear it's not.

Ask anyone.
