What is an Adjustable Ring in a Water Level Control Box?

How could you possibly "design" something when you have no idea what it is you are supposed to "design".

Have you searched on the internet? Have you looked for any examples, wherever it is that you work, or are going to school?

What do you do when you are designing things you know about???

When we was kids, me and my brother used to use the ring in tub to know how high we could fill the tub without gettin' whooped....It's adjustable but ya gotta' clean the old one first....hope this helps...

We're getting closer. This seems to have something to do with fluid level control.

It could be one of a number of things, from an adjustable circular weir to something to modulate a flow control valve. Presumably somebody instructed you to do the design. Go and ask him what it is.

As per your question, this could even be the workings of a toilet bowel... Sometimes it is a hollow ring that floats up and closes the supply valve when the water level reaches its desired level???
