Pressure/Flow Rates in Y Connector

01/07/2012 3:04 PM

Developing Y connector for converging oscillating flow .Would like to know how parallel tubes in inflow segment will affect pressure /flow rate in outflow segment ?

What would be pressures /flow rates in each segment ?

You can probably get some numbers if you search for a fluid flow site.

Try engineerstoolbox.com

You'll need to supply some real information to get figures.

Have a look at this very interesting real life application of converging gas flow theory.

What is your application and objective?

goal: increase flow rate in y connector wthout causing extra wall shear stress .existing model -it came from your article -dosnt count wavelength of inflow wave.i need geometry which will allow me to minimize turbulency /wall shear stress in points

h.t and f

Thnx

What is the fluid, its temperature and pressure, and its denisty and viscosity?

What is the diameter of the pipe?

What is the fluid velocity?

Turbulence happens when the Reynolds Number increases above about 2300. Does that help?
