I'm a girl studying 2nd year btech with mechanical engineering from a pvt college... I've a huge knack for cars(automobiles)... I want some advices for the approach to own my dream jobs... Should I prepare for GATE? I find most people saying, it's not a branch for women, but I really want to make a career out of it.

I have no idea what GATE is (so there's a free lesson, explain your acronyms).
Listen politely to 'most people' and then do what you want.
'Most people' sit on their backsides dreaming away their lives regretting that they didn't follow their hearts.
Sometimes we have to be pragmatic and follow the jobs or the money, but doing a job you enjoy is vastly more imortant than an extra few pounds/dollars/currency of choice.
Early in your career it's just important to get experience, you can change/move/specialise later.
Aim high and you'll often find what seemed daunting soon becomes easy.
good luck.
