Sorry BW you missed one. There are two places where "of of" is split between two lines. Don't feel bad though, most (english as a first language people that is) miss almost every "of" because the 'f' is pronounced as a 'v'.

Your text has blanked out but I did see the double of's on two lines. Where did I miss one out?

Ok you win, it was an of in the text not the double "of" that threw me off.

I did same as you, I spotted the "of of" but still only counted 9 first time. I think I missed the one in Univ of Ush...

I'm certainly weird. I somehow missed the instructions , and went straight to considering black holes etc. I console myself that I've seen this type of question before (even though I 'failed' ). For once , I'm not joking.Kris (not signed in yet )

The spaghettification problem is the same feature of black holes that give rise to Hawking radiation. The differential of the gravitational field gets so intense that the difference between the gravitational pull at one point and another point just a micrometer away are so great that is shreds you like Thursday's garbage!!!

If you're looking for an answer for the number of "f's," that's an old one based on "of" being seen as "v's." No big deal.

For the black hole portion of this exercise, just what is the minimum size (other than the concept of micro black holes)? We see the singularity surrounding them, but inside of there, what size is left of say a 100 solar mass and/or 1,000,000 solar mass hole?

RichH -

Theoretically, a black hole could be of any size; no max, no min. However, we know of only two ways to make a black hole:

1) Micro black hole created just after Big Bang

2) Star-sized black hole created by dying giant star

For the second case, the minimum size should be about 10 solar masses. If there are black holes created by other means, they could have intermediate sizes.

A slight correction to your wording: "singularity" is the theoretical point in the center of the hole. The thing that we seem to "see" around it is not called a singularity, but an Event Horizon.

What is the reason f-f-f-f-f-f-f-f-for this thread?

...to weave in and out of obstacles.

Strange things occur within black holes. The mathematical condition for a black hole is very similar to the zero-energy condition, making it probable that black holes can spontaneously spring into existence. Since we don't know the total mass and radius of the universe, these parameters may support both the conditions for a black hole and for zero gravity. Much study has been devoted to the way our language affects, and in part determines, what we can perceive and how we organize our perceptions. The great discovery of the ancient world (about 6000 B.C.) was that there was an intelligible structure to the world. The great discovery of the Renaissance in Europe was that we could use this structure for our purposes, that the more we understood it, the more we could control matter and energy. The great discovery of today is that-within limits-the structure is up to us...

Future concious events are unpredictable in principle. Past events can be shown to have been determined. From a scientific viewpoint, then, the past of an individual conciousness is determined, and the future is free. Human freedom joins chance with deliberate choice. But it needs the chance. The mind is teleological in its function. We look into the future , drawn by purposes as well as impelled by drives, we partake in the livliness of the incalculable human spirit-freedom survives.

"This life's five windows of the soul

Distort the heavens from pole to pole

And teach us to believe a lie

That we see with, not through, the eye"-William Blake

I'm an artist. You are men and women of rational, sound expertise and so my question becomes; "How many 'F's do you read?" and when you look into a starry sky what keeps your mind rational and sound?

I predict that the picture you used in your posting really should be your new avatar.
