Mechanical & Physical Characterization of Thrombus

01/16/2012 5:06 PM

I am looking for a University partner to help my company carry out a project in the physical, mechanical and macro-molecular characterization of a range of blood clots. My company has the capability of making blood clots through a variety of protocols using swine / ovine / bovine blood so as to simulate the full range of clots found in human disease states like stroke, DVT etc.

The University partner should have good mechanical testing, materials and macro-molecular chemistry knowledge. An obvious advantage would be the ability to leverage cofunding of the project.

Somehow when I make gravy, I just can't seem to get the lumps out. They have a wide range of consistency, chewiness, etc., that seem to be easily produced simulacra of all sorts of blood clots. I don't have much money, nor any discernible fund-raising abilities. Should I send my resume anyway?

I was hoping to do the project under the umbrella of a University. I expect to publish the results at the end...hence the academic slant.

Thanks,

Eamon B
