Triplex74

If you could take some pictures of the bearings and show us, that would help us.

What you are identifying as a tilt bearing may be known to us under a different, more generic name.

If you're looking for a local bearing supply distributor we would need to know what country you're located in.

For best results so the entire forum can help, take your picture (s) then save them on your computer. After you have done that just reply and use the green camera icon, browse to the place you stored your photos and click on them to attach and then click on the submit. Sounds like it might be hard, but its quite easy once you play with it a little bit.

There ya go!!!! No I will be quite honest in saying I don't have a clue to help you, but safe to say that others will have a much better idea.

Look forward to worthwhile replies now!

Good Luck,

Tim

I don't see anything that looks like a bearing in those photos. I'm with Tim -- looks like a a segmented clutch.

Best thing to do for a hard to find bearing is call one or more of the big bearing manufacturers (SKF, Timken, etc.). Ask for engineering.

Pantaz,

The above is from the Kingsbury website.

The OP may have a custom bearing made specifically for that pump and not an off-the-shelf unit. And the brand may not be Kingsbury.

(I was with you until I opened the website)

Have you actually talked to someone at Kingsbury? The photos you posted look an awful lot like the items on their website. Just because it's not listed in a catalog doesn't mean they didn't build it. If, by chance, they did not, they are likely the best source of information on what you can do for repairs.

That's what I would do!

If you're lucky there will be a distributor in your area. That info should be on their website.

If not you need to contact their service people or their engineering people.

If Kingsbury doesn't have a replacement bearing there is probably nothing special about the bearing. The only areas of concern would be that the babbitt surface is not damaged and the hardened surfaces are intact and not fretting the mating parts.

The babbitt can be re babbitted, the hardened surfaces can be restored. The hardened surfaces are the aligning devices (something on the back of the plate that lets the shoe roll and its mating piece (base ring).).

Any good bearing shop can fix your bearing, RPM comes to mind.

hello.. I need help to solve a problem

we have a steam power plant 350MW, main steam pressure 17,5 MPa, main steam temperature 538°C.

we had a problem in the thrust bearing of turbine...

the alarm temperature is 99°C and trip 107°C...

we have 2 sensors in each side oh thrust bearing... the generation was in 290MW and the temperatures was 93°C in 1 sensor... in 2 minutes the temperature raises to 97°C and after that, in 10 seconds the temperature raises to 113°C... the other sensor was 87°C and raises until 97°C (in the same side).. so we had a trip from turbine... now, we can't inspect the bearing, because we need to wait that the temperature of the metal from turbine comes down... could anyone give me a light about what can we do?
