What is the Rule/Standard for Adding a Reinforced Pad for Pipe Support?

Project engineered with ASME31.3, do we have any standard, rule, company standards stating the mandatory requiremtn of reinforcement pad welded to below the pipe resting on the pipe support.

You can read AWS D1.1 for plate stucture or pipe support.

nit,

You must be part of management, as you use the disfunctional "we" in your poorly worded opening statement.

There have been individual company standards and policies regarding pipe support design. Reinforcement pads on elbows should be avoided whereever possible due the additional cost and complexity of the pad.

Most of the time, these pads can be avoided in the design by supporting the pipe riser directly. Yes, it is recognized that riser supports may also be costly and awkward.

Please be careful when addressing complete strangers as "we".... Someone may suspect that you have an MBA or are part of some engineering management team.
