Checking Vacuum Conditions in Vacuum Towers

05/03/2007 9:30 AM

Dear All

Please advice how to perform any on situ check of vacuum conditions of vacuum tower. Mean how is possible to check if all the connections of all nozzles are sealed in optimal conditions? Or how ussualy it is checked the sealing test of vacuum tower? We are in doubt about sealing conditions of vacuum tower vs. outside. There is any possibilty to have any sealing small problems and the vacuum could be affected taking air from outside? Please there is a emergency situations!

A lot of thanks in advance

Depending on conditions, whether or not you can take the unit off line and isolate it to check for leaks. Let´s say that the unit is on line. Using an ultrasound detector around all connections will tell where the leaks are.

Use the dry nitrogen to check the leaking area. Place the nitrogen frm a small tube at the suspected area and look at the Vacuum gauge. If there is a leak it would cause turbulance at the vacuum gauge.

I'm don't know what these vacuum towers are but when we check vacuum chambers for leaks, we apply the vacuum then flow helium gas around the outside. A mass spectrometer inside the vacuum sounds an alarm if the helium is detected. To pinpoint any leaks we go round the joints with a small helium nozzle.

If this vacuum tower is for deaerating a water flow through the tower I'd suspect the packing gland on the feedwater inlet valve first! espeacialy if the valve is mounted towards the top of the tower. We had similar problems on such a system for a water injection facility on an oil platform in the North Sea.

Hi, We have our factory to process indium products such as indium foil, indium wire, indium ball, indium powder, indium target, etc.. The quality is high standard, and the price is very favorable. Many manufacturers of Lasers or Optical goods buy INDIUM FOIL from us on their products. Our indium foil has been exported to USA, UK, Germany, Holland, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, etc.. and the quality is well appreciated by our customers. As for indium foil, it is ideal for creating cryogenic vacuum seals. We make Indium foil in sizes up to 400 square millimeters. We also custom-cut sheets in larger sizes or special shapes. The most requested sizes are 0.1x100x100mm, 0.1x150x150mm, 0.2x100x100mm, etc. For more information about our goods and our company, please visit our website at www.hanbillion.com If there is any interest or need more detailed information, please feel free to contact me.
