Circuit Breaker Rating

i wanna know what is the difference between iu and in. i have a circuit breaker that has the following nameplate in=63 A , iu= 160A

If you want an accurate answer without any guessing I'd look at the manufacturer's website for application notes and your specific part specifications.

in=63A is the max current at specified temp, and I believe that the iu=160A is probably short circuit max current, but I could be wrong..

Rated uninterrupted current (Iu)

The rated uninterrupted current of an equipment is a value of current, stated by the

manufacturer, which the equipment can carry in uninterrupted duty.
