what is the difference between tradishnal heat exchanger & cryogenics heat exchanger?

During design stage for cryogenic heat exchanger, special consideration is required for material selection. Each heat or batch of material has to pass the notch test before usage.

All these precautions are not part of design for traditional heat exchangers.

Cryogenics heat exchangers are generally Aluminum finned plate exchangers made with aluminum (containing Mg around 5%) which is one of the best material for cryogenic application. Helium leak detection test and 100% radiography of all weld joints are must.

the main difference between the cryogenic heat exchanger andnormal heat exchanger is use of cryogenics. Cryogenics are generally low temp refrigerants. So by use of cryogenic heat exchanger more amount of heat transfer can takes place. increasing efficiency of heat exchanger
