Book On How To Define MIL SPEC Part Number For Screws, Bolts Etc.

Hi folks!

I´m from Brazil helping my engineering dept to solve some problems...

I would like to know if there is any kind of publication that teaches / helps you to define MIL SPEC part numbers for mechanical parts as screws / bolts, etc.

Any kind of help will be highly appreciated.

Yeap Military specs.

I work on a company that develops military material for Brazilian Army, Air Force & navy items...

Hi Lyn,

I have a HUGE problem with engineers(not to all, ok?) that likes to get confortable with one easy option(here in BR we´re used to buy such items using only the description) we need to get FAR more professional and get into the int´l standards...

Will look deeply on it also. Want to get such knowledge to help my company.

OK, MIL SPEC numbers have no intelligence. The only indication is that the letter between the dashes is first letter of the first word in the title.

You are better off going to manufacturere's web sites and letting them tell you which specs their hardware meets.
