Pharma Filtering with RFID

05/04/2007 8:48 AM

Radio frequency identification technology has been introduced to pharmaceutical filtering, providing manufacturers with the ability to gather data on products. RFID tagged filtration products can deliver real-time information about fluids that are present during the manufacturing process, helping customers with compliance reporting as well as enabling them to record and share manufacturing information.

Hi Moose,

Where can I find labels, antennas and software, I searched in GlobalSpec and I did not find it.

I need for a project: tag, plastic card for range (0.5 - 2.5) meters, arc`s antennas, and software for control, if you now who have it, please will send me the information.

Regards,

Tomas

The tag its self is not the problem with restricted distance it is the design of the reader.

Hi BrainWave,

You talk about the sensitivity of the antenna, but also the device takes part, it is a passive device that also needs sensitivity to receive the signal and soon to radiate its code, it is what I understand.

Regards

Tomas

They use a form of rfid tags her in the UK to catch people trying to steal goods from shops, the tag is stuck to the packaging and an alarm sound if the person tries to leave without paying a loop antenna is fixed to the exit and it radiates an RF field when the tag moves into the gap it detunes the field and the alarm is activated.

In a hospital where I was a patient they had an automatic door system that relied on the person swiping a card by a non contact pad it reacted at about 6 inches 150 mm's from the pad. The London under ground train monitor and permit people to go through barriers by another smart card that is again read by a non contact reader.
