Oscillator / Mixer / Down-Converter for SAW Resonator

05/04/2007 9:58 AM

Hello Best Engineers of the Earth,

This is a call for you all to take up to this serious design.

I need, Oscillator-mixer-down-converter-for SAW resonators 6 of them in close packed array. My SAW resonators are 150MHz to 434MHz range but of selected one frequency.

All I need is; make an oscillator out of these, and allow small flat response band of say 100kHz for FM modulation or deviation of the SAW frequency, convert the frequency to near 1MHz range and give me that in TTL for each of the resonator. All resonators are of almost same frequency except for that 100kHz variation.

I will insert the SAW resonators in sockets for testing under ATE.

Tell me the reward you want and within my reach I will try to manage from my little pocket. It is more fun and real game.

I wonder what is ttl level for your oscillator? I hvnt heard that level. and I dont know why you put out that level? why dont you say from 2.4--5V? it not discrete digital signal.

100k bandwide is not a question for such modulor, but I seem not very clear your descriptopn about the mixer?

beside, the simple oscillator circuit is easy, only two or t\hree capacitor and two resistors and a transistr. you can fidn it in every hf books.

I have one SAW as standard and other are to drift in frequency lower side. Mixer generates the difference which will start increasing. I want it TTL or digital voltage levels for frequency counting purpose and frequency change may be at best 0-1MHz. As zero frequency is difficult to get out of the mixer circuit, I will keep the standard reference at 100kHz higher than others. This makes the difference 100kHz to 1MHz and easier to get out of the mixer circuit.

Mixer output is made TTL level or 0-5V level for frequency counting in normal frequency counters. Do you have any problem in understanding now?

Oscillators need to be very stable design and must not drift with temperature in 0-50C operating environment.

What frequency range will the counter have? Is going to be an RF counter or a logic counter to go with a function generator?

Counter is of low frequency 1MHz range. However 10MHz is also possible. More mixer output frequency than 10MHz is not desirable.
