This is what happens when good bows go BANG.
I'd got the sucker back to 26" on my rig (at 55pounds, that's a fair amount of stored energy)... I was aiming for 28".

Not looking good Del. Lucky it didn't happen while hunting bears, that sound would have been a dead give away. Do bears eat kill cats?.
