Can Someone Check This for Me?

Hello All, Could someone tell me if i am right or wrong on these,,, The S value for a fluid flowing in a 4 inch pipe is 0.1430. Calculate the diameter of the orifice to be used if the primary device is a flow nozzle,, I came up with 1.52 in. Seem OK ? Another,,, Calculate the permanent pressure loss, in inches of water, of an ASME nozzle having 50 percent B ratio. The differential pressure is 100 in. of water,,,,, i came up with 65, sound right?

What's S value mean? What is the pressure? what is the gpm required? What is the length of hose? What is the B ratio? Differential between what and what? what type of gas??

The first problem as stated has a LOT of missing information. We have no idea what the flow measurement range is, or the expected DP to be developed by the flow nozzle, or even the fluid type. I'm not even sure what "S" value means (specific gravity???).

For the second case (the ASME nozzle), I can only imagine that somewhere in your course materials is provided either a formula or a chart plotting permanent pressure loss for ASME nozzles. I found a site by Imperial Flange and Fitting company giving a chart of permanent pressure loss versus beta ratio with a figure slightly less than yours of 65 (for 100" WC DP). I'll let you do the Googling necessary to find this site.
