Small DC Motor Replacement

05/04/2007 5:12 PM

I have a deer feeder operated by a small 6 VDC motor that is powered by a 6 V square lantern battery. I need to replace the motor. It has the following printed on the side: 310B6U0 and below that: S20 621-1. What do these designations mean and where can I find an equivlent replacement.

This motor from All Electronics looks and mounts like the one I want to replace, http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/item/DCM-267/400/DC_MOTOR,_3-24_VDC_.html but I don't need one that fast. Maybe this one, http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/item/DCM-231/400/FAN-COOLED_6-12_VDC_MOTOR_.html ?

Thank you.

Try Spincast Feeders on the web they sell the motors for $10.00. Here in Texas most every sporting good store and feed store carries parts for game feeders. I will send you one if you can't it.

If you have any old unused Makita or Ryobi 7.5 volt battery drills floating around these motors will do the job for you, or the 12volt motor in your web link will work ok with 6volts just a bit more slowly providing the load is not to heavy.

Good luck
