AVR Broken on Old Stamford Generator

02/23/2012 4:24 AM

I am trying to get an old generator going K.V.A 15, LISTER Diesel,Company;Stamford,England Type C244A,PR 0.8, VOLT 980/220,Serial No. H5408/10 , RATING Cont TO B.S.5000/99.

The AVR has broken and I am being told different things from various companies MX341 by one and another says SX440. Prices being quoted are around $500 so I do not want to buy the wrong one. It is a back up generator for a health centre in Tanzania.

Any help appreciated

Regards

Steve

I would ask these guys, and also some UK based dealers, until I had consensus opinion..I believe the MX341 is used with permanent magnet generators only.

Thanks Solar Eagle,

I have tried contacting Genpower twice and am still waiting an answer from them.

Power systems got back saying it was the old SX440 replaced by the AS440 but has a different footprint and wiring. ( Cost $900 Aus + shipping)

I am thinking about taking the old AVR board and taking it to a specialist to either repair the old one or mafe a new one.

Thanks for the info on MX341, looks like I can discount that one !

Many thanks
