Specific heat capacity of steam changes with temperature and pressure. For the improvement of efficiency of turbines, superthermal, even critical and ultracritical thermal power plants have been developed. Just because of higher specific heat capacity of steam at high pressure and of-coarse there are many other advantages.

There is no direct relationship between temperature, pressure and the specific heat capacity of superheated steam. There is, however, a general trend towards an increase in specific heat capacity with increasing pressure at low degrees of superheat, but this is not always the case

Hence the work done by the same amount of steam will depend on the specific heat capacity of the steam.
