The selection of Nickel based consumables and Austenitic stainless steel consumables are based on service conditions. If the operating temperature is less than 400 Degree Celcius (Some specification says 315 Degree C), ER309/E309 is suitable. If the operating temperature is above 400 Degree Celcius, better use ERNiCr-3 or ENiCrFe-2 or ENiCrFe-3
