Motor Control Center Sizing Calculation

03/09/2012 8:33 AM

How much space does a 200amp fuse switch take up inside a motor control center centerline model ?? I can't seem to figure this out and I've been working on this project for work. Thanks :()

What is a 200 amp Fuse Switch?

Have you looked at any manufacturer's web sites?

What have you done in the way of research?

Welcome aboard Robert!

You need to contact an AB rep to get to get your question answered correctly.

Have the model number and serial number of your lineup when you call, the rep will need this to answer your question.

A-B Centerline MCC ...

If it is a plug-in feeder switch, it will be 2 space factors, so 24" of mounting space in a lineup. Assuming Class J, R or H fuses.

Same size mounting height for a Main, but the Main version would be a fix mounted instead of plug-in so you have to mount it in the top or bottom on the section.

you may require the compartment of size 450 mm width,300 mm height and 400 mm depth to accomodate a 200 Amps fuse swith unit of GE make. For other makes we should know over all dimensions of the device and the tag particulars.

This information (switch dimensions, connection details, recommended connection space, etc) should be in the data sheets and application notes of the switch, with additional spacing information in the codes and standards you are working to.

Have you checked these?
