Friends and associates,
In a recent post, I asked regarding magnetic sheet materials, and since then I have more information. I am still looking for a source (with no luck) and hoping someone has or can find a lead.
[Since the last episode, from your leads, I did research some known sources, but with no results. Most who supply sheet magnets, sometimes called 'rubber magnets' cater mostly to signage, and their materials are lower energy.]
I found a sample of the material from my old archives and offer some pictures here:
These two views show the striations in the magnetic material

In my own testing, I mounted this piece (about 5cm x 12cm ; about 2in x 4.75in) to a piece of plywood, and a piece of galvanized sheet steel (generic, from the hardware store) to another piece. The magnetic material is about 1.3mm (0.050in) thick, and the steel is about 0.3mm (0.013in) thick.

I rigged some handles and weights (zip loc bags with water
) and added weight and did static lifting. I gave up at 10 pounds with no failures (sorry, no pics of the duct tape and bags
).
Bottom line, the material has several times the energy as the signage-type materials. Assuming the performance is linear, that says the holding power is greater than 1 lb / 1 sq.in.
Any thoughts on where I might find this material, or ideas how to search would be GREATELY appreciated.
Thanks in advance, and Kind Regards ...
